Bowel, Breast & Cervical Screening

Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK. The aim of the national Bowel Screening Programme is to discover bowel cancer at an early stage. The sooner it's caught, the easier it is to treat.

Bowel screening involves a simple test that patients conduct at home. For these reasons we strongly encourage you to participate in the bowel screening programme.

  • All men and women aged 60-74 are invited to carry out a faecal occult blood (FOB) test. Every two years, you will be sent a home test kit, which is used to collect a stool sample.
